On Saturday the 31st of August we had a wedding to attend in Niagara Falls. We left Guelph early, right after breakie, and meandered down to the Falls – hwy 24 then 8 then 20. Quiet roads and enjoyable drive and we still arrived at noon. So we had lunch and decided to drive along the Niagara Parkway as we couldn’t check into our hotel until around 3pm. We stopped at the overlook for the whirlpool.
Then we decided to stop at the Botanical Gardens so I could take in the Butterfly Conservatory and Garnet could find shade and have a pipe.
If you haven’t been to the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara – you must – it is the best butterfly spot I’ve been too – just FANTASTIC. Well the pictures tell the story – and I was only there about 1 hour and it was busy – but oh so fabulous. I will hopefully identify the butterflies one day soon.
This little guy sat on my hand for ages and finally opened up fully. I took quite a few pics to get this one right.
A lady stopped me to tell me I had some butterflies on my shoulder – it isn’t easy taking a pic of your shoulder but again many tries and it works – digital is so fantastic.
WE then went off to the wedding – next blog entry. Sunday morning up bright and early – took in the Falls before the crowds got there – fabulous as always. Then went on to the flower clock and Brock’s monument. Garnet had a pipe and I walked around – found a neat visitor on Brock’s outstretched arm……
Tower at the Falls:
Hawk flying over Falls
Canadian Falls in the mist
Brock Monument Park
Closer up – Hawk on his arm – Neat!
Fabulous but tiring couple of days!
