January 18

Good week in the Rio Grande River Valley – weather has been warm, great days for walking. Spent a couple of long days walking and birding – first Wenesday at Estero Llano Sate Park and Friday at Santa Anna. Some new birds to me in the valley – Groove-Billed Ani – I had seen this bird in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico but not anywhere else. Also some new sparrows and warblers. Saw the Pauraque and the alligator at Estero LLano. Saw a new butterfly, the new warblers and sparrows at Santa Anna. Also saw some house finches at the Anzulduas Park on Thursday.

Thursday we went to an open house party at some friends’ new home in the Wagon Wheel South Park.

Friday was my “65” birthday….. – great day but I can’t believe I’m that old.
